———-A 50-year-old man has drowned at Lumpampa dam as he was trying to cast his fishing net.
District Police Officer Commanding, Collins Hikalinda, confirmed the incident to ZANIS today and named the man as Joseph Mushimutu, who met his fate yesterday.
Mr Hikalinda disclosed that the deceased met his fate when the fishing net he was trapped his legs and drowned into the dam.
He said that the incident happened around 15:30 hours.
The officer commanding disclosed that the body of the deceased was retrieved with the help of the community and the body was buried today.
The Lumpampa dam was constructed in 1998 by a Chinese company with a view of helping the community for irrigation purposes.
