Chilufya Tayali and Christopher Kapita were arrested by the police in Lusaka, Zambia for hate speech and giving false information to a public officer, respectively. Tayali was arrested for making targeted remarks on social media towards traditional chiefs and security officers. Kapita was arrested for giving false information to a public officer. Both suspects are in police custody and await formal charges. The police stated they are committed to enforcing the law and holding those who break it accountable.
