A JUDGE has started reading judgment to determine whether or not Patriotic Front Matero Member of Parliament Miles Sampa was duly elected lawmaker in the August 12 general elections.
This is case in which Mr Sampa’s election in the August 12 general polls is being challenged by losing UPND candidate Tom Michelo in the Lusaka High Court.
Mr Michelo got 33, 598 votes against Mr Sampa who polled 55, 612.
The Lusaka High Court is also expected to pass judgment in the election petitions for Chawama and Mandevu parliamentary seats held by Tasila Mwansa and Christopher Shakafuswa.

The Lusaka High Court have validated the election of Miles Sampa as Matero Member of Parliament. This was after a judge ruled that Tom Michelo, the losing UPND candidate, failed to prove that the election of Mr Sampa of the PF was marred by violence, vote buying and other elect electoral malpractices.
