National Democratic Congress(NDC) Secretary General Mwenya Musenge has written to the Registrar of Societies to suspend activities of the party until illegalities being perpetrated by unauthorised individuals are sorted out.
Musenge says an individual in the name of Chishimba Kambwili in concert with others, who are not members of the party, have continued to hold illegal meetings in the name of the party.
He said as the Secretary-General of the party, he is responsible for mobilization and organisation of the party, to maintain a party register and to be in constant liaison with all members.
He said the former consultant, Chishimba Kambwili has been masquerading as a member despite the decision to drop him and has been organising meetings at his house without the knowledge, authority and sanction of the Secretary-General.
Musenge also said that he had learnt with alarm, that Kambwili had called for another illegal meeting of the National Governing Committee on Saturday 2nd March 2019.
He said all these activities are inimical to Section 13(b) of the Societies Act and contravened the Constitution.
