Patriotic Front media director Sunday Chanda has threatened to report National democratic Congress NDC national youth Chairperson Charles Kabwita for circulating a toilet tissue with a portrait for president Edgar Lungu.
Chanda said its against the penal code for someone to insult the President in such a manner.
He urged Kabwita to prepare for answers when he is arrested for insulting the heading of state by circulating the tissue.
Social media is rocked with pictures of new exercise books consisting the presidential portraits ,there by giving other people chance to create toilet tissues which is against the law.
Below is the pena code quoted by Sunday Chanda:
SECTION 69 OF THE PENAL CODE;
69. “Any person who, with intent to bring the President into hatred, ridicule or contempt, publishes any defamatory or insulting matter, whether by writing, print, word of
mouth or in any other manner, is guilty of an offence and is liable on conviction to imprisonment for a period not exceeding three years.*
Charles Kabwita was Kitwe PF youth Chairman who resigned to join the National democratic Congress led by Chishimba Kambwili.
