FODEP demands Lungu explains ‘uubomba mwibala alya mwibala”

The Found for Democratic Process (FODEP) has advised the Republican President Edgar Lungu to explain what he meant when he used the adage “uubomba mwibala alya mwibala.”

FODEP Executive Director Chimfwembe Mwenge tells Chikuni Radio News that if President Lungu fails to clarify what he meant people will continue speculating that the President is supporting corruption in the country.

Mr. Mweenge says recently the President was heard warning controlling officers during the workshop on prudent financial management practices organized by ministry of finance but that adage used contradicts what was said before.

He says the statement from the Head of State is in public interest, hence the need for President Lungu himself to clarify the context in which he used the Bemba adage.

Mr. Mweenge says for democracy to function properly in any democratic country, the party in power should ensure that public funds are used in the manner which benefits all citizens.
