The angels must have been singing this morning when Zambia’s President Edgar Lungu returned to his humble beginnings of Chimwemwe township in the mining town of Kitwe to pray.

In what pundits called a ‘home-coming’ the President born in Ndola Central Hospital 61 years ago took to the pulpit like a duck to water in the humble neighborhood he grew up in long before he dreamt of ever becoming President.

“I will always make myself available to the church because I believe God helped me get into my position,” said President Lungu.

“I never knew I would be President but here I am. I never knew I would be a success story but here I am through Gods divinity.I consider myself a success story because few believed I would be President we thank God,” President Lungu said drowned by applause and ‘amens’.

Preaching just minutes away from his parents childhood home house number *4001*, the grassroots President was rewarded with a huge round of applause as he eloquently gave thanks in local Bemba language.

President Lungu, however, hastened to warn the congregation to watch out for those in Zambian politics that spoke in toxic language because if the country was to burn down, innocent people would not remain unscathed.

The *United Church of Zambia* in Chimwemwe heartily thanked President Edgar Lungu for choosing to pray with them today albeit congregation choices abound.

President Lungu has reaffirmed Zambia as a Christian nation by constitution.

The UCZ leadership appealed to the President to help them build a bigger church in his childhood neighborhood in order to bring the community closer to the body of Christ.

On Saturday night the Zambian leader helped the ruling PF raise more than $1million at a sold out party dinner.

President Edgar Lungu who continues commanding election type crowds is expected back in Lusaka soon after a 3 day tour of the Zambian Copperbelt.
