Zesco United forward Jackson Mwanza says the team is ready for Saturday’s CAF Champions League clash against Jeshi la Kujenga Uchumi (JKU) of Zanzibar.
The 2017 Zambian league champions are in Zanzibar ahead of their match against JKU to be staged at the Amaan Stadium.
Mwanza said Zesco United had prepared well for the encounter to ensure that they started their continental campaign strongly.
“The team is ready for the game, at least we have done everything in the pre-season and we are looking very okay,” he said.
Mwanza said his team will fight for a win in the first leg.
Zesco United will host JKU on February 17 at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in the return leg.
Kickoff for the match on Saturday is at 15:30 hours Zambian time.
Zesco United is accommodated at the Ocean View Hotel and are training from the Abdual Rahmann Sumait Memorial University grounds.
Other Zambian clubs in action on the continental front are Zanaco who host Gambia Armed Forces side at Nkoloma Stadium on Saturday at 15:00 hours while Green Buffaloes will be away to Al Masry on the same day.
Nkana have been exempted from the preliminary round owing to their standing in continental competitions the last time they participated.
