Patriotic Front Luampa district Chairman Brian Musole has been shot dead by unknown people.
Luampa District Commissioner Winnie Kamayoyo, who has confirmed the development to Q News via telephone, says Mr Musole was shot at Kapapelo area in Luampa District of Western Province.
Ms Kamayoyo says the deceased was shot around 17:00hrs yesterday and died today in Lewanika General Hospital.
She says Mr. Musole sustained serious gunshots in the chest and abdomen.
Ms Kamayoyo says Police in Luampa has since launched an investigation in the matter.
She says the body of the deceased is lying in Lwewanika General Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
