The Zambia Police Service has received reports that some people with criminal minds have begun vandalizing water tanks installed in communities by Government to supply clean water to members of the public in an effort to curb the cholera pandemic that has been experienced in Lusaka.
We therefore wish to warn all those involved in this criminal act to desist forthwith or risk being arrested and prosecuted.
Police Command has instructed all Police Officers to ensure that they extend their patrols to areas where such essential properties are installed and whoever will be found wanting will not be spared but dealt with severely.
We appeal to members of the public who may have information about people behind this criminal act to report to the police without delay.
