The Director of Public Prosecutions -DPP- has issued instructions to prosecute six people including musician Fumba Chama commonly known as Pilato, governance activist Laura Miti and politician Sean Tembo for disobedience of lawful order.
It is alleged that on September 29th, 2017 Laura Miti, Sean Tembo, FUMBA Chama, Bonwell Mwewa, Lewis Mwape and Mika Mwambazi did disobey a lawful order issued by the Zambia Police Service to stop demonstrating at the Zambia National Assembly.
Facts are that the six accused persons organised a demonstrating at Parliament building over the purchase of the fire trucks by the government.
When the matter came up for plea before Lusaka Magistrate Mwaka Mikalile, the accused could not take plea as only two of the six were present before court
Magistrate Mikalile extended the accused police bond and adjourned the matter to January 29th, 2018 for a plea.
