We have received the news of the passing of our former Deputy Speaker Hon. Mkhondo Lungu with great sadness.
The nation has lost a great and gracious public servant; a peacemaker who served this nation with humility, dignity and outstanding dedication. The Movement for Multiparty Democracy has lost a great confidant and treasured member.
We shall remember Hon. Lungu for his reconciliatory attitude and his passion to serve his party and his constituents.
On behalf of the MMD and on my own behalf, I send our deepest condolences to the widow and the bereaved family. May the Lord our God who is the comfort giver keep the family during this very difficult time.
