United Democratic Front president Miles Sampa has apologized for leaving the ruling Patriotic Front and has since applied to rejoin the party.

He says from the date he lost his mentor and father figure, President Michael Sata his actions have been irrational and superseded by emotions, and deeply regrets it all.
Mr Sampa says despite effort from some senior officials, there was a counter internal stronger force that led him away from a party which is home to him.
He states that he walked away from his bonafide political family and his conscience has not been clear since.
Mr Sampa says while in all his past actions he did not seek God’s intervention, he has since had divine and spiritual engagement with a number Pastors and other people of God who have helped him see his errors of which he takes full responsibility.
He says as he returns to where he belongs, he neither seeks nor expects any position or appointment, but merely asking for forgiveness.
Mr Sampa has further apologized unreservedly to all those he may have injured directly or indirectly in the past or those that may disagree with his current decision, as he only wishes to be true to himself and to all.
