FIVE people died on the Great North Road in Serenje when a 56-seater bus they were travelling on careered off the road andoverturned.
Serenje district commissioner Francis Kalipenta and Central Province commissioner of police Lombe Kamukoshi confirmed the accident in separate interviews yesterday.
The Higer bus was carrying 50 passengers, and the accident happened around 22:30 hours on Monday near Chikole area about seven kilometres from Serenje turnoff.
