Political Analyst Dr. Alex Ngoma has observed that people are abusing honorary doctorates awarded to them.
Dr .Ngoma says people who have been honored with doctorates should not be referred to as doctor.
He has since advised the media to distinguish an honorary doctorate from an Academic doctorate and avoid addressing people who have been honored with doctorates as doctor.
Dr. Ngoma states that the difference between an honorary and academic doctorate must be clearly understood by the people.
He says only people who have obtained an academic doctorate by studying at a University can be addressed as doctor.
Dr. Ngoma adds that honorary doctorate holders should only be addressed as Doctor by the institutions which honor them.
