The Rainbow Party aspiring candidate for mayoral elections in Kasama has been disqualified by the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ).
Flavia Mulenga was barred from contesting the elections on grounds that she registered twice as a voter and also had two different National Registration Cards.
Kasama District Electoral Officer Godwin Chinoya confirmed this on Tuesday .
Mr. Chinoya urged the Rainbow party aspiring candidate to appeal if she was not satisfied with the decision taken by the ECZ.
But when contacted for a comment, Ms Mulenga claimed that it could have just been a mistake for her name to appear twice as a voter in the ECZ database.
