‘Bill of Rights won’t promote gays’

THE Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) says the proposed Bill of Rights will not promote gay rights, as marriage is clearly defined in the laws of Zambia.

EFZ executive director Pukuta Mwanza said although the proposed bill guarantees rights of minority groups, the Marriage Act clearly defines marriage as a union between two consenting adults of the opposite sex.

“As far as we are concerned, the article takes care of the fears surrounding homosexuality,” he said.
