THE law will visit politicians engaging in forgery of Grade 12 certificate, Chief Government spokesperson Chishimba Kambwili has said.

He stated that forging of Grade 12 certificates was a crime and those who were engaging in such illegalities risked being prosecuted. According to the Examination Council of Zambia (ECZ), a lot of aspiring politicians jostling to contest various positions in the forthcoming general elections allegedly submitted fake Grade 12 or Form 5 certificates.
Dr. Kambwili warned that government would not tolerate anyone found wanting in issues of forging the Grade 12 certificate as the election date draws near.

“Forging a Grade 12 certificate is an offence and the law is very clear about this. Government will not tolerate anyone who would be found wanting and we want to warn that when they are arrested, they should not complain that the Patriotic Front (PF) government has locked them up.
“The law will visit them because they have decided on their own to bring forged papers they did not even strive for,” Dr. Kambwili said.

He advised politicians without Grade 12 certificates to follow the right procedures by going back to school so that they could obtain one. Dr. Kambwili said forgery would not help them to get a position, but would only land them in problems they would regret later on.
“Forging papers will not help you. If you don’t have Grade 12 certificate, you don’t have. The best you can do is, go back to the desk and fight to obtain a Grade 12 certificate.
“There is no point to risk your life just because of contesting for a position. Let those that have Grade 12 certificate file for nominations and those that don’t have support them unlike to be arrested, that’s what reasonable people should do,” Dr. Kambwili said.

  1. Dr Kambwili is very right go back to night school instead of getting arrested. No G12 certificate swallow pride and just become a cadre

  2. this is obvious, you dont need to issue fresh warnings, unless you are really addicted to them
