A MAGISTRATE’S court yesterday sentenced three men of Lusaka’s George and Zingalume townships toone year imprisonment with hard labour each for participating in the recent riots sparked by alleged ritual killings.
Magistrate Kunda Tantameni consigned Lackson Lombani, Sungwe Sichambe and Morgan Chifita, all of them in their 30s, to prison after they pleaded guilty to the charge of rioting.
The court found the three guilty of rioting with 16 other people on April 19.
When the matter came up, Lombani, Sichambe and Chifita readily admitted the charge.
