LAZ calls for probe into ritual murders

Law Association of Zambia(LAZ) president Linda Kasonde has donated assorted items to foreign nationals based at Saint Ignatius Catholic Church with a call on the police service to thoroughly investigate those behind ritual murders in the country.

And St Ignatius Church Catholic Parish Father Charles Chilinda has paid tribute to LAZ for the gesture and urged other organizations to come on board and assist the victims.

Ms Kasonde said it is unfortunate that this un acceptable acts have happened in Zambia for the first time.

She said this today when LAZ donated assorted items worth K11 000 Kwacha to the displaced Rwandan refugees at Saint Ignatius Church in Lusaka.

Ms Kasonde said LAZ has decided to donate to the displaced people as a way of showing Justice, honour and integrity to the affected.

She also disclosed that LAZ will continue monitoring the situation with keen interest adding that next week, the law body will be seeking an audience with the Inspector General of Police over the xenophobic attacks in Lusaka.

And St Ignatius Church Catholic Parish Father Charles Chilinda has paid tribute to LAZ for the gesture and urged other organizations to come on board and assist the victims.

Fr Chilinda said the Church is pleased with a number of organisations which has come on board to assist the displaced families.

He said more need to be done in the area of assisting the victims before they taken back where they supposed to be within the country.
