Information and Broadcasting Services Minister Chishimba Kambwili has formally lodged a complaint with the Police against the Post Newspaper for tapping into his private conservation with Kitwe District Commissioner Chanda Kabwe.

And Mr. Kambwili has threatened to introduce statutory regulation for the print media in the country if newspapers do not desist from championing political party agendas.
Briefing journalists in Lusaka today, Information and Broadcasting Services Minister Chishimba Kambwili says government has intelligence information that a named political party has signed a contract with a newspaper to champion their evil agenda.
Mr. Kambwili says what is worrying is the growing level of unethical reporting on national matters.
He says government is losing patience over this issue, as relevant bodies mandated to ensure the print media censors what is published are not doing their job.
Mr. Kambwili says government will not allow what happened in Rwanda where the media triggered the genocide to happen in Zambia.
And Mr. Kambwili has described former Vice President Dr. Guy Scott who recently endorsed the candidature of UPND President Hakainde Hichilema as a ‘politically useless’ person.
