The ruling PF Central Committee has made a resolution to allow the party secretariat to start the process of adopting candidates for the forthcoming general elections.
The PF Secretary General Davies Chama has since been instructed to call for applications from aspiring candidates.
PF Deputy Spokesperson and Central Committee Chairperson for Information Frank Bwalya says applications from aspiring candidates will be treated as an expression of interest to stand on the PF ticket.
Mr. Bwalya says the instruction to aspiring candidates not to engage in activities that would undermine sitting party Members of Parliament (MPs) and councillors, remains.
He has told a media briefing held in Lusaka this morning that his party’s leadership will not also allow party aspiring candidates to destabilize opposition MPs and councillors working with the party.
Mr. Bwalya has particularly referred to opposition UPND and MMD MPs and councillors that are currently working with the ruling PF as those that should not be destabilized.
