AC Leopards Zambia striker Winston Kalengo on Saturday continued with his scoring prowess netting a brace in the 2-0 win over ASP in the Congolese Super League.
It was the fourth brace Kalengo (right) was scoring for Leopards since moving to Brazzaville last December.
Kalengo took his tally to 14.
He scored a brace in a 4-0 thumping of Pigeon Vert De Pointe-Noire last Wednesday.
Kalengo’s form is a tonic for the Chipolopolo ahead of next month’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Congo Brazzaville.
Leopards moved to the top of the log on 24 points, one better than CARA Brazzaville, who have one game in hand against Munisport.
South Africa-based forward Collins Mbesuma scored for Mpumalanga Black Aces in the 3-1 defeat to Orlando Pirates.
Pirates’ Thabo Rakhale opened the scoring in the fourth minute but Mbesuma levelled on 12 minutes.
Substitute Tendai Ndoro hit a second half brace.
Mbesuma is leading the topscorers’ chart with 12 goals, two better than Prince Nxumalo of Ajax Cape Town.
In Israel, striker Evans Kangwa scored his ninth goal of the season.
Kangwa scored the solitary goal in Hapoel Ra’anana 1-0 victory over Maccabi Netanya at Netanya Stadium.
The win ended Ra’anana’s two game winless run.
The victory pushed Ra’anana to fourth on the log with 35 points 22 behind leaders Hapoel Be’er Sheva.
Meanwhile, TP Mazembe Zambian trio of defender Kabaso Chanda, midfielder Nathan Sinkala and striker Given Singuluma helped the African champions to a 2-1 win over Tunisian outfit Etoile du Sahel in the CAF Super Cup match in Lubumbashi.
Chipolopolo skipper Rainford Kalaba sat out the match due to suspension.
