THREE boys of Kanyama township have admitted taking turns in defiling a girl under the age of 16 in the Lusaka Magistrates Court.
The juveniles admitted the charge when they appeared before Magistrate Ireen Wishimanga.
They told the court that they knew that the girl was under the age of 16 when they forcefully had unlawful carnal knowledge of her without her consent.
They also told the court that they had no lawful justification and authority for their actions.
Facts on record say that on December31 last year the trio met the girl walking in a street in Lusaka’s Kanyama area.
They called the girl who refused to go to them; they started chasing her until they caught her.
The trio pushed the girl into an unfinished church where they took turns in defiling her.
The girl narrated the ordeal to her mother and the matter was reported to Chawama police post and the three boys were arrested.
Ms Wishimanga adjourned the matter to February 24 and ordered the prosecutor to take to court a birth record of the girl as proof that she was under the age of 16.
