Snake kills pupil

A GRADE eight pupil of Musenga Basic School in Chingola has died after being bitten by a snake while picking mushrooms, Copperbelt commissioner of police Charity Katanga has said.

Ms Katanga said in an interview yesterday that the incident happened on Saturday around 11:00 hours when the girl, identified as Gift Chabinga, went to pick mushrooms with her friends.
“I can confirm that a girl aged 15 years died after an hour of being bitten by an unknown snake,” Ms Katanga said.
She said the body is in Nchanga North General Hospital in Chingola.
