The Rwanda 2016 CHAN Championship today enters the quarter-final stage, after the conclusion of the group stage matches earlier this week.
Eight teams, among them the hosts, Rwanda and the Chipolopolo will be vying for semi-final slots, between today and tomorrow, Sunday, January 31, 2016.
In Saturday’s quarter-final matches, hosts, Rwanda will battle with rivals the Democratic Republic of Congo -DRC- in an early kick-off at 15 hours, while Cameroon will play Ivory Coast at 18 hours.
On Sunday, Tunisia and Mali will fight for a place in the last eight at 15 hours, while the Chipolopolo will play Guinea.
And Soccer Analyst, Chibulu Musonda has cautioned the Chipolopolo not to relax in the match against Guinea, as a loss will mean getting ejected from the championship.
Musonda has observed that this is the first time, the Chipolopolo have managed to go beyond the group stage at any major tournament, since the 2012 AFCON, which they won.
He therefore says there is need for the players to ensure they win on Sunday.
Musonda was speaking when he featured on Seven Days Today, a TV 2 news and current affairs programme.
Wishing the copper bults all the best and Gods favour.
