IDAH Peterside says Kalusha Bwalya is the right person to replace Issa Hayatou as CAF president because he understands African football better.
Speaking on Supersport’s Soccer Africa on Thursday night, the former Super Eagles goalkeeper said Bwalya was ripe to take over from Hayatou at the helm of the continental soccer body.
He said the 1988 Africa footballer of the year was the only CAF committee member that understood African football better.
“Kalusha is best-suited to take over from the long-serving, Issa Hayatou. He understands African football. In that CAF committee, he is the only one who understands the game better,” said Peterside, a SuperSport soccer analyst and commentator who recently established a church in South Africa.
Bwalya, the current president of the Football Association of Zambia, is Zambia’s second most capped player after Joseph Musonda.
