Gabon and Germany-based Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, last night won the 2015 African Footballer of the year award, beating four consecutive times(2011,2012,2013,2014) winner Yaya Toure of Ivory Coast/Manchester City, and Ghana/Swansea star Adre Ayew.
Aubameyang 26,was crowned the most prestigious award in African football at the 2015 Glo-Caf Awards Gala on thursday january 7th 2016 in Abuja, Nigeria; after polling (143)points,seven points ahead of Yaya Toure on(136),and Adre Ayew on (112)points,while Yacine Brahimi grabbed only (49)points.
The Gabonese and Dortmund star has not only broken Yaya Toure’s reign in Africa,but also scored an overall (41)goals in the year 2015,before setting another massive record of an all-time player to score 18goals in 17games of the first half of a single season(2015/16) in Europe;beating Ronaldo,Messi among other world stars.
Other awards saw former Zambia coach Herve Renard walking away with the 2015 Coach of the year award having guided Ivory Coast to victory in last year’s Afcon hosted by Equitorial Guinea,while Tanzania and Tp Mazembe striker Mbwana Aly Samatta clinched the African-based player of the year,ahead of teammate and DR Congo’s Robert Kuteba Kidiaba,and Algerian Baghdad Bounedjah.

as much as i hv massive respect for aubamayang,i agree with yaya’s reaction,apart frm aubamayang being on fire and scoring loads of goals,has he won any tittle in the last two yrs?if going by the criteria,yaya won the afcon though did not win epl but still had a bigger chance to win the prestige award.honestly ronaldo did not win anythn last ur and u expect him to beat messi?
