ORIENTAL Quarries Boxing Promotions (OQBP) has announced that they are not interested in renewing Zimbabwean boxer Charles Manyuchi’s contract after its expiry last month.
OQBP operations manager Christopher Malunga revealed that Manyunchi’s three-year contract ended in November and he was free to join another stable.
“OQBP is not interested in renewing the contract. So Mr. Manyuchi is free to join any stable or promotion of his choice. We did our part, and we have informed the World Boxing Council about it,” he said.
Asked why OQBP was not renewing the contract, Malunga said the stable wants to give chance to other upcoming boxers.
He said they have helped expose Manyuchi to international fame and they want to do the same for other boxers.
The stable wished the talented Zimbabwean boxer the best in his career.
OQBP signed Manyuchi on on a three-year contract from November 2012 to November 2015 and credits his boxing success to the skilful guidance of the Zambian stable.
He is the defending WBC international welterweight champion after he successfully defended his belt by defeating Italian Gianluca Frezza in Italy mid this year.
