VARUN Beverages Zambia Limited and Varun Food and Beverages have sued Food Lovers Lusaka Limited, demanding payment of over K570, 000 for the goods supplied to them on credit.
According to a statement of claim filed in the Lusaka High Court commercial registry, Varun Beverages Zambia Limited and Varun Food and Beverages Zambia, through its lawyers MSK
Advocates, stated that by agreements made with the defendant, they agreed to a credit facility for the supply of food and beverages to Food Lovers.
The plaintiff’s stated that pursuant to the first agreement, Varun Beverages Zambia had supplied goods to the defendant worth K289,654.47 but that Food Lovers refused to pay the money.
They stated that Food Lovers, in another agreement, was supplied with goods worth K288,510.15, but that in breach, the defendant has withheld the money and has refused to pay back despite numerous reminders.
The plaintiff’s stated that they have suffered loss of business and damages and claims the payment of the monies with interest, costs and any other relief the court might deem fit.
