PF deliberately stayed away from parley committee – Chama

Patriotic Front Secretary General Davies Chama says the ruling party deliberately opted not to appear before the parliamentary committee on legal affairs which is receiving submissions on the constitution Bill which is before parliament.
Mr. Chama says the PF does not want to contradict the government position on the contents of the final draft constitution.
He adds that the ruling paDavies Chamarty does not want to influence any decisions with respect the positions that Members of Parliament (MPs) will take when the constitution Bills come up for debate in the House.

Mr. Chama has told Qfm News in an interview that the PF wants MPs to debate the Bills freely and make their own decisions with regards the contents of Zambia’s new Constitution.
He states that the ruling PF therefore has no position other than the fact that Justice Minister Ngosa Simbyakula has already presented the constitution Bills to Parliament.
Mr. Chama however, notes that he has his own personal views on the contents of the final draft constitution.
He states that there are certain things he does want in the final draft constitution.
