Government has been called upon to save public funds by doing away with the tribunal that was set up to investigate suspended Director Public Prosecutions (DPP) Mutembo Nchito.
The Zambian Voice is concerned that the country is losing a lot of tax payers’ money in many ways as a result of this tribunal.

Executive Director Chilufya Tayali says apart paying Mr. Nchito half salary for doing nothing while he is on suspension, the Country is also losing out on his expertise as lawyer.
Mr. Tayali has told Qfm News in an interview that this is besides the money that is being spent on members of the tribunal whom his organization understands are being paid despite the tribunal being on halt owing to some court processes.
He states that his organization does not understands why therefore government wants to continue spending money on a tribunal that is also widely thought to be only meant to sort out Mr. Nchito.
Mr. Tayali notes that such wasteful expenditure of public resources is what the Zambian Voice is concerned about with respect President Edgar Lungu’s governance.
He says for the fact that government appears not to have money it is thus important that President Lungu thinks about dissolving the tribunal whole together.
Mr. Tayali thinks that government will benefit more if the tribunal is put off and Mr. Nchito is allowed to resume his duties as the Country’s substantive DPP.
