Police in Kitwe on the Copperbelt have apprehended one person in connection with the gruesome murder of three Chinese business executives from the same family.
Copperbelt Police Commissioner Joyce Kasosa says the 21-year-old man of
Kitwe’s Garnatone township is believed to have connections to the three men suspected to have killed the Chinese nationals.
The Chinese are proprietors of Golden Kings Investments Company Limited a firm involved in the manufacture of roofing sheets and other materials.
Speaking during a media briefing in Kitwe Mrs Kasosa said Police are looking for the three suspects who are believed to have run away with their families.
And some Chinese investors have appealed for enhanced police patrols in the wake of a spate of attempted robberies in Lusaka’s industrial area.
Wonderful Industries group says it has thwarted a number of attempted burglaries at its premises on Mungwi road in the recent past.
Group Spokesperson Leonard Ngulube says the latest attempt is linked to suspected business competitors who allegedly attempted to set the ceiling manufacturing plant on fire.
Mr Ngulube said a motor vehicle used in the last attempted attack was intercepted and is currently parked at Matero Police Station.
And company security guard Joshua Ngoma says three Chinese Nationals were among a group of suspected bandits that attempted to force their way in the plant on Monday night.
The matter has since been reported to Matero Police station.
On Monday, three Chinese executives were brutally killed while three others were critically injured in a criminal raid at their residence in Kitwe’s Garnetone area.
