The World Boxing Council -WBC- main bantamweight bout between Zambia’s Catherine Phiri and Yazmin Rivas of Mexico has been postponed to 5th December 2015, instead of the initial date of November 28.
Oriental Quarries Boxing promotions Operations Director Chris Malunga says the postponement is because the WBC and the promoter want the bout to be the main event of the WBC female convention, which is going to take place in Mexico.
Malunga said Yazmin Rivas will be defending her WBC bantamweight gold belt for the fourth time against the mandatory challenger Catherine Phiri, the WBC silver champion.
Malunga said he is happy that the bout will be the main event of the WBC female convention, as this will give Catherine more international exposure.
