The reconvened FAZ AGM held at Government complex has unanimously agreed to restructure the FAZ Premier League.
The motion to restructure the FAZ Super League which was moved by Matero East football Academy Secretary Jairos Siame and seconded by Golden Milling FC Secretary Daniel Tembo went through unopposed by the over four hundred delegates.
FAZ Manager Club Licensing Erick Mwanza told Tv2 in an interview after the AGM that the delegates have approved the restructuring of the FAZ Premier League which will increase the number of teams from the current sixteen to eighteen.
Mwanza explained that at the end of the 2015 Super League season only two teams will be relegated from the super league, while four will be promoted to the super league.
He says FAZ Premier League Restructuring exercise will raise the level of Club football both on and off the pitch and provides a long term development arrangement for the Zambian Premier League.
Mwanza further says the Premier League Restructuring is a programme that realigns the present structure, system and administration of the league; and addresses key components of football development.
He added that under the restructured league there will be a National First Division Championship which will be played in four streams, namely Zones One, Two, Three and Four.
The Second and Third Division Leagues will be played in the respective 10 provinces and each province will have a Division Two League and Division three League.
