A 23-YEAR-OLD Lusaka woman was yesterday convicted after she pleaded guilty to secretly giving birth and disposing of the body of the child. Lusaka magistrate Faides Hamaundu convicted Susan Lubinda of Malcolm Settlement Area upon her own admission of guilt on a charge of concealing the birth of a child contrary to the Laws of Zambia.
Magistrate Hamaundu is sentencing Lubinda today. Allegations are that on July 18, in Lusaka, Lubinda, being a woman that had delivered a child, secretly disposed of the body in order to conceal its birth. Sources revealed that Lubinda gave birth to a baby and without telling anyone, proceeded to bury the body at a farm.
