Zambian International striker Jacob Mulenga on Saturday netted his tenth goal of the season for his Chinese football club Shijiazhuang Ever Bright in a 2-nil win over Shanghai Lvdi Shenuah.
Grevazio Zulu reports that this was in a game played at the Yutong International Sports Center in Shijiazhuang, Hebei on Saturday evening.
Mulenga who was voted man of the match put his team ahead when he headed in a cross in the 30th minute.
And Former Chelsea and Bolton striker Eidur Gudjohnsen doubled the lead in the 54th minute from a spot kick after a foul committed by the Shangahi Shenuah defence.
The win pushes Mulenga’s club Shijiazhuang from seventh to fifth place in the Chinese premier league.
Speaking after the game Mulenga said he was happy to have contributed to his team’s victory.
And Shijiazhuang coach Yasen Petrof Petrof described Mulenga’s performance as excellent and inspirational.
He says Mulenga is a good player who has greatly contributed to the teams’ success this season.
Shijiazhuang who won promotion to the top premier league for the first time in history last year have performed well and managed to beat relegation with nine games to spare.
They currently sit on the fifth position on the league table.
Shangahi Shenuah had on its books Senegalese international and former Chelsea and Newcastle striker Demba Ba and defensive midfielder Mohamed Lamine Sissoko former Juventus, and Liverpool player.
