The Drug Enforcement Commission – DEC has arrested a 35-year-old Food Reserve Agency -FRA officer in Isoka District in Muchinga Province for theft by public servant involving over 520 thousand Kwacha.
DEC Deputy Public Relations Officers Mutale Chileshe has confirmed that the Anti- Money laundering Unit has arrested and charged SHADRECK SILUMBU, a FRA Marketing Assistant.
Mr Chileshe said the suspect is alleged to have misappropriated funds meant for paying peasant farmers who supplied maize to the agency in Isoka.
He said the suspect appeared in court and pleaded not guilty to the offence.
The suspect has since been granted bail by the Isoka Magistrate Court.
