Zambia’s swimming sensational Tilka Paljik says she is aiming for gold at the on-going Congo-Brazzaville All Africa Games (AAG) that kicked off on Friday.
Tilka who is Africa Swimming Confederation (CANA) Zone Three and Four Swimming Championship 2014 silver medallist said she was aiming for gold this time round at the on-going Congo-Brazzaville All Africa Games (AAG) that kicked off on Friday.
Paljik said she has been training hard to ensure that Zambia wins a medal in swimming.
“I have undergone tough training just to prepare for this tournament. This is a big event that attracts stiff competition hence one needs to work extra hard,
“ I have put in the best in trying to bring honour to the nation. I know it is not an easy task, but I can surely survive,” she said. She said the morale among her team members was high and the swimmers were determined to overcome all odds at the tournament.
“The spirit of a fighter is in every Zambian swimmer here. We are determined to put up a resilient competition and book a slot in the medal bracket. Some teams will underrate us, but they will be greeted with a surprise,” she said. The swimming team has Paljik, Ralph Goveia, Mathew Shone and Shannon Hassen Weltin , Kumaren Naidu and Alexandros Axiotis.
