A VIDEO featuring WBC international welterweight champion Charles Manyuchi was shown for the first time at the Golden Peacock Villa hotel here where the boxer was a guest of the Mutare Press Club. The 10-minute production has highlights of the champion’s fight against Italian Ginalucca Frezza in which he beat the latter into submission halfway through the 12-round distance.
The hotel, in conjunction with Mutare Press Club, invited Manyuchi to the Eastern Highlands so that the people here could also have the opportunity to hear him speak about his victory, his plans, answer some questions and pose for some photos.
The invitation also came at a time when the city is hosting the 13th National Youth Games and the champion is expected to be here for some days.
Manyuchi said he was focused on becoming the best boxer in the world.
“It was great for me (as a champion) to meet a political champion (President Mugabe), and now my ultimate goal is to fight the person who holds the highest title in my division (Floyd Mayweather Junior),” said Manyuchi.
“My prayer is that he does not retire from boxing until I have done that.”
The video also contains some social responsibility work done by the boxer at the Mother of Peace Orphanage in Mutoko where he donated clothes.
