ONE person died on the spot yesterday, while six others sustained injuries, when the vehicle they were travelling in allegedly flew over a tree along the Kitwe-Ndola highway.
Copperbelt deputy commissioner of police Byemba Musole, who confirmed the accident, said survivors who include a baby are admitted to Ndola Central Hospital.
Mr Musole said the body of the deceased is lying in Thompson Hospital mortuary in Luanshya.
And an eyewitness told the Daily Mail in Kitwe that the accident happened around mid-morning yesterday.
He narrated that a Toyota Regius registration number ADD 6199, which was allegedly being driven at high speed, and travelling from the direction of Kitwe, flew over a tree and landed on the other side of the road.
A chitenge material and other clothes could be seen hanging on the tree at the accident scene.
