Archbishop Telesphore-George Mpundu of Lusaka, Zambia, who was evacuated to Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg, South Africa for specialist treatment, returned to Zambia Tuesday, saying he is “feeling on top of the world.”
Archbishop Mpundu told Zambian media at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport that he is feeling better and further thanked all well-wishers and those who prayed for him.
“I am feeling much better, I am feeling on top of the world,” said a jovial and seemingly rejuvenated Archbishop.
Zambia’s Republican President Edgar Lungu, a week ago ordered the evacuation of Archbishop Mpundu to South Africa for specialist treatment.
The Archbishop was first admitted to the country’s University Teaching Hospital (UTH) after he almost collapsed as he administered the Sacrament of Confirmation at one of the parishes in Lusaka.
The Archbishop was reported to be suffering from acute high blood pressure.
