53 year old man murdered by his son

A 53 -year–old-man has allegedly been murdered by his son in luwingu district in Northern Province.
Northern Division Criminal Investigations Officer, Mubita Nawa, confirmed the development to ZANIS in Kasama today, saying the incident happened in Lubansa village in Chief Shimumbi’s area in luwingu district.

Mr. Nawa further explained that the victim identified as Mpundu Chola got a lighting lamp from his son and refused to return it.

This angered his son who later beat him until he died.

Mr. Nawa explained that one of the neighbours reported the incident to police and the suspect was apprehended.

The suspect is currently detained at Luwingu Police station and will appear in court.
He has since appealed to the community to be sorting their disputes amicably than resorting to killing each other.
