Vice President Inonge Wina says government will deal with any company found wanting in the supply of faulty crude oil.

Mrs. Wina says it is regrettable that Indeni Oil refinery will have to shut because of negligence on the part of the oil suppliers.

She was responding to a question from Kalomo Member of Parliament, Request Munthanga who wanted to know why government allowed the importation of faulty crude oil.

Mrs. Wina said it is the duty of oil suppliers to bring in the country proper oil.

And the Vice President says the move to increase fuel is meant to ensure that the country’s economy runs effectively.

Mrs. Wina said it is not government’s intention to punish its people to increase fuel pump price.

She was responding to Mafinga MP, Catherine Namugala who wondered why government increased the fuel pump price when some Zambians resorted using diesel powered generators amid power outage.
