Zambian boxers have won eight medals at the just ended five nations boxing championship held in Mozambique.
The Zambian team finished in second position with the host Mozambique winning the championship.
The Zambian boxing team won four gold, two silver and two bronze medals.
Benny Muziyo, Caristo Bwalya, Emmanuel Ngoma and Julian Kasonka won Gold.
Those who minted silver are Nkumbu Silungwe and Hilda Ngandwe, with Mbanchi Kaonga and charles lumbwe collected Bronze medals.
Zambian boxer Benny Muziyo was the best boxer of the tournament.
Zambia Boxing Federation-ZBF- president Thomas Chileshe confirmed this to ZNBC sports in Kitwe.
Chileshe said he is happy with the boxer’s performance but indicated that ZBF will continue to assess the team.
He further noted that coach Kennedy Kanyanta will maintain the same team in camp ahead of the all Africa games set for Congo Brazzaville.
