The Copperbelt University workers Union has urged Vice Chancellor Professor Naison Ngoma to take leave to pave way for investigations into accusations of mismanagement leveled against him.
Union President Humphrey Lungu says the continued stay of Professor Ngoma in office is counter-productive.
Mr Lungu has since implored government to find a lasting solution over the impasse between CBU lecturers and management.
Mr Lungu has told ZNBC News in an interview that the Copperbelt University workers union has not taken any sides in the latest standoff.
