THE Chingola Magistrate’s Court has heard that a pastor threatened to kill a 10-year-old girl after he indecently assaulted her when she went to his house for prayers.
Before principal resident magistrate Davies Chibwili was Rodgers Chivweta Kolala, a pastor in Chingola’s Kapisha township, who is facing one count of indecent assault of a child.
The court heard that the girl had gone for prayers to the pastor’s house when he asked her to remain behind after the prayer meeting.
The girl said Kolala indecently assaulted the girl and threatened to kill her if she told anyone about it.
Particulars of the offence are that on February 4, 2014, Kolala unlawfully indecently assaulted the 10-year-old juvenile.
The court heard that Kolala was very close to the victim’s family and used to provide them with pastoral ministration when need arose.
The case has been adjourned to July 23, 2015 for continuation of trial.
In another case before magistrate Shadreck Chanda, a 24-year-old man of Lulamba appeared in court for allegedly having carnal knowledge of a girl without consent.
This is in a case where David Chomba is alleged to have had unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl aged 17 without her consent on May 18, 2015.
The court heard that the accused was the victim’s boyfriend and had promised to marry her.
The matter has been adjourned to July 1, 2015 for continuation of trial.
