Police in Lusaka are looking for a 50-year-old headmaster of Kindergarten Private School in Mtendere township who allegedly defiled a seven year old female pupil at the same school.

 

Police Spokesperson Charity Munganga-Chanda confirmed the development to the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Lusaka today saying the incident happened in the school premises on Monday this week.

 

Ms. Chanda said preliminary investigations indicate that the incidence happened during lunch hour on Monday, June 22, 2015.

She said police have since intensified the search for the suspected defiler who has only been identified as Mr. Banda.

 

 

She said police officers from Woodlands Police Station, who are companied by the girl’s relatives, have been tasked to go flat out to apprehend the suspect wherever they will find him.

Ms. Chanda said the medical report issued by the doctors has confirmed that the girl was defiled.

 

She has since warned perpetrators of defilement that they will be dealt with severely.
