The opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) Leader Hakainde Hichilema has accused the PF government of allegedly sharing the money they borrow through government contracts.
Speaking when he addressed residents of Malambo to drum up support for UPND Malambo constituency candidate Peter Phiri, Mr. Hichilema says when the government borrows; citizens do not even see where the money is channeled.
Mr. Hichilema states that the money being wasted for bye-elections should have been use to pay farmers so that they can take their children to schools.
Mr. Hichilema says the prevailing poverty, joblessness and high cost of living in Zambia, the land of plenty is totally unacceptable.
He says it is disheartening to see children have been sent back from school because parents cannot afford to pay school fees.
He notes that even the source of income for most rural households such as sale of agriculture produce is completely neglected and now farmers are being swindled by briefcase business people who are buying maize and cotton at very low prices because government cannot move in and has not even set the floor price.
