Government has assured the nation that it will follow the law to the latter with respect to holding the national constitution referendum alongside the 2016 general elections.
Chief government spokesperson Chishimba Kambwili says government intends to make sure that people in the country are well informed of the time of holding of the referendum.
Mr. Kambwili who is also Information and Broadcasting Services Minister has disclosed to Qfm News that government wants to make known to the people what the importance of their participation in the referendum will be.
He says the idea is to get the required number that will make the referendum legitimate as prescribed in the law.
The Chief government spokesperson says government is however not going to request other stakeholders to come on board to help in the sensitization campaigns of the referendum.
He says the fact that the constitution referendum is a national programme all relevant stakeholders are free to participate in the campaigns of sensitizing the people without being asked to do so.
